About Us
"DORLINDA" is the home of Bruce and Darmae Melody Stalk. In 2004, we bought 20 acres of forest land with a view of Mt. Rainier to build our retirement home. We were blessed from the Lord with this property and felt from Him we needed to include a guest house, but did not know for what purpose. As we prayed for an answer, the Lord revealed we should provide for those in ministry a place of rest in a quiet setting. He even impressed upon us that we were to place a Bible in the foundation of the guest house as it's cornerstone. As Christians, we can relate to the feeling of wanting to stay in a place that appreciates Christian values. You will have this at DORLINDA!
What We Believe
What We Believe
We believe that the Gospel teaches us to love others in action. The spirit of hospitality is powerful in bringing communities together. We were inspired by Martha who opened her home to Jesus and His disciples in Luke 10:38-42.
Following the command in Hebrew 13:1-2 on Christian living: "Keep on loving one another as brothers and sisters. Do not forget to show hospitality to strangers, for by so doing some people have shown hospitality to angels without knowing it."
And Jesus said to them, "Come away by yourselves to a secluded place and rest a while." Mark 6:31

Quotes on Hospitality
“Every true home is an influence of blessing in the community where it stands. Its lights shine out. Its songs ring out. Its spirit breathes out. The neighbors know whether it is hospitable or inhospitable, warm or cold, inviting or repelling. Some homes bless no lives outside their own circle; others are perpetually pouring out sweetness and fragrance. The ideal Christian home is a far reaching benediction. It sets its lamps in its windows, and while they give no less light and cheer to those within, they pour a little beam upon the gloom without, which may brighten some dark path and put a little cheer into the heart of some belated passerby. Its doors stand open to everyone who comes seeking shelter from the storm, or sympathy in sorrow, or help in trial…”
Rev J.R.Miller, Family, 1882
"To impart to each that crosses our threshold something of the presence of Christ."
Karen Maines
"True hospitality doesn't wear us out or make us feel pressured; life sharing is not entertaining in our own strength. It flows from a heart full of life for others. Christ's love, which doesn't come from our self-effort, is a work of the Holy spirit in our lives. The love of God is what draws people to God."
